Task 2: Analyse Clarissa's Hair for Colouring

Analysing the client's hair colour and condition will help you to choose suitable products, colours and techniques.

I would like you to check Clarissa's hair for metallic salts, determine the natural and artificial levels of colour, analyse her hair condition and choose a suitable colour product. As you work through these activities, you will be able to fill in the Colour Analysis section of Clarissa's Client Profile.

To help you to complete this task, you can consider what questions to ask Clarissa about the colour that she used at home (Activity 1), then compare Clarissa's hair with the Prestige Natural Levels Colour Chart and work out the percentage of grey in Clarissa's hair (Activity 2). By assessing the porosity and diameter of her hair (Activity 3) it will be possible to select suitable colouring products and peroxide mixes (Activity 4).

Story So Far

Clarissa Tran has a 3:00pm appointment for a colouring service. She wants her hair coloured to cover up her grey regrowth. She has been colouring her hair at home.
